Guide for GTMdata.zip This file contains outputs from the Global Timber Model (GTM) which informed results presented in the paper 'The Influence of Parametric Uncertainty on Projections of Forest Land Use, Carbon, and Markets' published in the Journal of Forest Economics (2019). Sohngen_etal_2019_GTMdata.zip contains 5 files: --README.txt (this file) -- contains information on the data included in this zip --datareg.rdata -- outputs organized by GTM region (see description below) --dataregfor.rdata -- outputs organized by GTM region and forest type. The list of forest types in each region are listed in Tables A1 through A6 in the Appendix, under the "Forest" column --weightsLC.rdata -- the results of the attributional analysis for the indicated variable, weighted by the forest type area within a given region --yieldelas.rdata --contains the stochastic values drawn for each trial, region-forest type combination, for each of the four parameters varied (World_Land_Supply_Elasticity, Rent, delta, pi) --parameter value are the same between BASE, 500MG, and 2BG which is why the only Scenario shown is "BASE". Variable Descriptions: Scenario = indicates the GTM scenario performed, of which there were 3: -- BASE: baseline -- 500MG: baseline + a bioenergy shock corresponding to 500 million gallons of cellulosic biofuel per year -- 2BG: baseline + a bioenergy shock corresponding to 2 billion gallons of cellulosic biofuel per year -- for more details on the scenarios, please see the paper mcnum = indicates which of the monte carlo trials the results corresponds to. (e.g., mc1 is the first trial, mc200 is the 200th trial) Region = indicates which of the 16 GTM regions the results correspond to. -- AFME: North Africa, Middle East -- Brazil: Brazil -- Canada: Canada -- Central_America: Central America -- China: China -- EU_Annex_I: Europe, Annex countries -- EU_non_Annex_I: Europe, Non-Annex countries -- E_Asia: East Asia (except China and Japan) -- Japan: Japan -- Oceania: Oceania -- RSAM: Rest of South America -- Russia: Russia -- SE_Asia: Southern east Asia -- SSAF: Sub-saharan Africa -- South_Asia: South Asia -- US: United States Variable = list of variables (intuitively named) Unit = unit of the corresponding variable Year = decade of the result Value = value of the corresponding variable for each scenario-trial-region-year combination
